The University of Malta’s Evenings on Campus together with the Carmelite Priory, Mdina, have offered their support to the Clare College Choir Cambridge to sing at the Carmelite Church, Villegaignon Street, Mdina. The public is invited to the concert on Thursday 10 July 2014, 1930hrs.
The programme includes work by Bach, Duruflé, Parsons, Palestrina and Allegri. Choir Director is Graham Ross.
This visit has been coordinated by Dr Mark Agius, who is a Research Associate at Clare College Cambridge. During its stay in Malta, Clare College Choir will be holding a workshop for students of the University’s Music Department, headed by Mro John Galea.
Since the founding of a mixed voice choir in 1971, the Choir of Clare College has gained an international reputation as one of the leading university choral groups in the world. While in Malta, the Clare College Choir will also be giving another two concerts on Tuesday 8 July 2014, 2000hrs, at St George’s Basilica, Gozo and on Saturday 12 July 2014, 1945hrs, at St Paul’s Anglican Cathedral, Valetta.
