A musical retelling of the Christmas story which sets the narrative of the Nativity against the Old Testament prophecies . The narrative is punctuated by several carols and hymns reflecting on each event. These carols can all trace their roots from before the 19th century, and include works from all over Europe. The music ranges from plainchant processionals, to chorales and carols.
This concert is part of a wider campaign to raise funds for the restoration of the priceless Baroque organ currently housed in the church. This campaign has already seen several local artists contribute to this cause, but a lot more is needed to help this project.
