After the August Summer recess we invite you to join us religious and lay Carmelites in living the spiritual Carmelite calling. At the Priory we do not only organize religious activities but also formative and cultural moments which enrich us. Therefore we encourage you to visit our website to be informed about the activities for this season.

We start with the usual Lectio Divina appointment, every third Saturday of the month, then, the reading and study of the mystics in the Titus Brandsma Circle. You are also invited to participate in the courses of spiritual and theological formation organized by the Carmelite Institute Malta, starting on 3 October, as well as other seminars. This year also will see the follow up workshops of the Ħwawar u Fjuri Project. In collaboration with local NGO’s the Priory will host the project Stejjer imfewħa. These workshops aim at promoting a culture of dialogue, mutual respect and understanding between people of different cultures and nations. On September 28 the second year of the Masters Class in Spiritual Theology will commence and it will be focusing on the Carmelite tradition.

October closes the celebrations in to commemorate the birth centenary of St. Teresa of Jesus. In Mdina we celebrated this anniversary with several meetings, talks, publications, as well as with an exhibition and liturgical celebrations. The last activity to mark the centenary will be on 30 October. In the Priory’s refectory we will be having a literary and musical interpretation of the Seven Mansions of Santa Teresa. The text for this literary evening was fashioned by Mario Azzopardi and its interpretation up to the Malta Drama Centre. For more activities in connection with the Teresian centenary keep yourselves updated with information from our website and facebook page.

As usual we will also celebrate the feast of St. Thérèse. On October 30 we will have after the 5.30pm mass a short lecture on the life and spirituality of the saint in the Church. The theme will be introducing to the Thérèse’s Doctrine of Mercy, in preparation to the upcoming Year of Mercy.

We hope to see you and meet you!
Greetings and Blessings
